Dining out in Sydney can be an expensive and daunting experience. Here is a list of the Sydney's best restaurants reviewed for their quality, menu and price.

Best Seafood

Jordan’s Seafood Restaurant

197 Harbourside, Darling Harbour.

Located on the water’s edge at Sydney’s trendy Darling Harbour, Jordan’s is more an institution than a seafood restaurant in this corner of the world – an absolute must try for all seafood-lovers. Popular dishes are: the fresh Sydney Rock Oysters, Baked Salmon Fillet and Poached Pear and Macadamia Nut Crumble.

Entrées will set you back around A$20 and mains around A$33. For those who like to indulge, the Jordan’s Deluxe Seafood Platter for two, is your best bet. With a divine selection of fresh premium local produce, the restaurant also has hearty Australian wine list to match.

Summit Restaurant

Level 47 Australia Square, 264 George Street, Sydney.

Spectacular scenery rotates at a metre a minute in this revolving restaurant. From inside the warm, ambient dining room, you can take a 360° bird’s eye view tour of Sydney’s sites and surrounds, while enjoying some of the most succulent and decadent food Sydney has to offer.

While the restaurant takes you on a panoramic tour, the menu takes you on an Australian inspired expedition with an international accent. A Sydney landmark since 1968, internationally renowned celebrity chef and restaurateur, Michael Moore took the reigns of the Summit in 2007. The à la carte lunch menu is priced between A$30-40, while the dinner menu includes two courses for A$79, with additional courses for $20 each. The Summit’s plush Orbit Bar is also a great place for a cocktail or après-theatre drink.

Kingsley’s Steakhouse

29a King Street, Sydney.

Hidden off the main street you can find one of the best steak houses in Sydney, hands down! Not only will the food impress you, but this restaurant, housed in an 1833 Heritage listed venue exudes the kind of rustic ambience that creates the perfect steakhouse dining experience. From its sandstone walls to its classic ranch-inspired décor, the emphasis is on quality, service and atmosphere.

The comprehensive wine list caters for casual dinners to wine connoisseurs. For those that retreat to the Cigar Lounge, you can find a whisky, cognac or scotch to match your cigar. The top recommendation: the Wagyu Rump – though this steak is so popular, it frequently runs out. It also hosts a range of events from Certified Angus Beef Dinners to Cigar Dinners to Wine Cellar Competitions and Poker Tournaments.

Best Decor

The Victoria Room

Level 1 235 Victoria Street, Darlinghurst.

Victoriana chic meets elegant British-Raj in this ultra smooth restaurant and bar located a stone’s throw from Sydney’s Kings Cross. Richly decorated and oozing style, the Victoria Room attracts the über cool. The bar is only separated from the dining room by palm trees decorative screens, which means it can get very noisy if you’re planning a quiet Saturday night dinner.

In sophisticated British style, High Tea is served Saturdays and Sunday’s 1-5pm for A$35-50 per person. Contrasting the décor, the restaurant menu serves up a selection of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean inspired mains for around A$24 and desserts for A$16. Top recommendations are the Crispy-Skinned Barramundi Fillet, Fried Haloumi, Tomato and Asparagus Salad and the Tarte Tatin.

The Sardine Room

Shop 2, 31 Challis Avenue, Potts Point

Nestled away in one of Sydney’s busiest dining districts, the Sardine Room offers a modern and casual dining experience, with a superb menu. Specialising in seafood, the food is a mix of fresh produce and primary flavours that is simple yet so tantalising.

The restaurant owner is a lively and extremely friendly character. She explains each dish with such succulent detail that you know exactly what you’re in for. Entrées are A$16, mains A$28 and desserts A$12. A must-try is the duck ravioli with seared scallops in a porcini & rosemary broth.
