The fourth Identità Golose (translating roughly as Gluttonous Identities) Italian convention for master chefs took place in Milan from Sunday, January 27 to Wednesday, January 30 2008.
The event has been growing steadily since its launch in 2004, when it only lasted two days. The second and third years were three days, this time it was four.
Identità Golose is part meeting, part master class. The talks go hand in hand with cooking demonstration by over eighty Italian and international top chefs, ranging from champions of regional cuisines (the focus was on Abruzzo this year) to Heston Blumenthal's molecular gastronomy.
Professional chefs from France, Finland, Slovenia, the USA, Spain, Brazil, Japan and the UK (this year's official Guest Country) joined their Italian colleagues to share recipes and discuss culinary trends.
Identità Golose is the brainchild of Paolo Marchi, culinary columnist for an Italian daily paper and successful epicurean blogger.
